Do Not Adjust Your Set

image

I’ve always enjoyed imagery born of technical failure. Whenever a computer crashed or a Photoshop file corrupted the first thing I wanted to do was get a screenshot. Call me nostalgic but they don’t make computers like they used to, a system crash isn’t as entertaining as it used to be. Fortunately there are plenty of other digital products each destined to misbehave at some point. Sony CCD sensors started to fail in digital cameras from several manufacturers last year and there are several photosets on Flickr from the broken devices. For some reason many of them share a lovely lilac hue. Shown above is “Finally: Camera definitely broken.” by desktop. Try broken camera photosets from him or notcatherinezeta and also the Malfunction Junction and Aesthetics of Failure groups.
